As much as Americans like poking fun at the French, you've got to admit that the socialist gov stepped up in offering sanctuary to the victims in Iraq. A French gov official even critized 'bama for continuing to vacation during this critical time. It seems clear to me that O keeps running away (vacations, fund raisers) because he is simply way over his head and is not competent in international events. Nor interested. I keep thinking about what Hillary said when trying to get the nomination in '08, to the effect of, "Who do you want answering the phone at 3 a.m.?" (an inexperienced political newby or her). Of course it turns out to be neither of them since she just let the phone keep ringing from Benghazi, but at least she was dead on with that criticism of him. Despite his inexperience, he could have matured on the job in dealing with international events, but he simply doesn't care. International events...even a genocide..is a distraction to him. He will only rise to the occasion (to one degree or another) if he believes it is politically necessary. What he is passionate and animated about - and proves it time and time again - is his desire to socially "transform America". When he talks about "extremists" it is usually in the context of people who want lower taxes (TEA Party) and the Republican Party. On the other hand, Hamas is "irresponsible" for launching rockets in or around schools and he has virtually nothing to say about the extermination of Christians in Iraq.
The president certainly has his priorities. Too bad they are so distorted.
